A federal jury in Atlanta-sympathetic to a software firm that was unceremoniously tossed out of a national technology conference by the host firm-has hit the conference host with $260,925 in combined compensatory damages and $2.14 million in punitive damages for breach of contract and interfering with a contract.
Finding that the defendant company, webMethods Inc., had acted in bad faith, the jury also awarded the plaintiff firm, GT Software Inc., $421,000 in legal fees.
