About three dozen plaintiffs’ lawyers are poised to share about $14.5 million in legal fees and expenses as a result of a settlement between their clients, shareholders of The Home Depot Inc. and the company.

A Fulton County Superior Court judge last week granted preliminary approval to the deal, which resolves suits filed in 2006. In addition to paying the legal fees, the company agreed to adopt an array of corporate governance reforms to settle the cases. At least one of the changes, allowing shareholders to ask questions at annual meetings, was implemented last year.
