THE SUPREME COURT OF GEORGIA has selected Therese “Tee” Barnes, a longtime judicial law clerk who has served two of its members, to be its next clerk of court.

Barnes, 49, will replace Sherie M. Welch, the court’s clerk since 1992 and one of its longest-serving clerks ever. The court announced Welch’s retirement, effective at the end of July, in April.
