PERRY J. MCGUIRE is telling voters that if he’s elected attorney general, he personally will handle oral arguments in court for the state’s biggest cases-even though he has virtually no experience inside the courtroom.

McGuire has blasted Attorney General Thurbert E. Baker, the Democratic incumbent, for having never argued a case during his nine-year tenure. McGuire said it’s particularly troublesome that Baker didn’t argue for the state when recent laws passed by the Republican-controlled state government were tied up in court.
