Military veterans with legal problems are getting help from the local bar, thanks to the efforts of some fellow vets who are also lawyers.

Melburne D. “Mac” McLendon started the legal assistance program at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center about seven years ago. During World War II he flew 30 missions over France and Germany until his plane was shot down and he spent 3 months in a German prisoner-of-war camp.
