In a nod to popular culture, Greenberg Traurig last summer threw prospective hires into a “Summer Associates Business Challenge,” a contest loosely based on the reality-TV hit “The Apprentice.”

Teams solved training, mentoring and rainmaking challenges law firms face. Like its TV counterpart, the competition compelled participants to take a hard look at marketing the firm.
