The race for solicitor general in Fulton County attracted scant attention in the last two elections. But this year’s contest may prove livelier with a challenger criticizing the incumbent for allowing months-and sometimes more than a year-to go by before defendants are charged with misdemeanor offenses.
“It’s taking far too long for misdemeanor cases to get into court and get resolved,” said the challenger, Myrlin D. Earle. “As a result, defendants suffer, victims suffer and justice is not served.”
