ATLANTA AP – Defense lawyers for a man accused of killing four people in a shooting spree that began inside a courthouse renewed their request Tuesday seeking to block the district attorney’s office from prosecuting their client.

Brian Nichols’ defense team also filed a copy of a letter it sent to Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard on Dec. 12 in which it said Nichols was willing to change his plea to guilty to murder in exchange for a sentence of life in prison without parole instead of the death penalty.
