A BABY BORN with a liver problem, and her parents, won a $16.5 million verdict last week in Fulton County State Court.

At issue was Brooke Yamada, who was found to have a cyst in her liver while she was still in utero, according to Tommy and Adam Malone, the plaintiffs’ lawyers. The Malones said the women’s clinic treating Brooke’s mother, Mina Leigh Yamada, did not tell the Northside Hospital obstetrician who delivered Brooke in September 2003 about the cyst, which would have required immediate attention after the birth.
