OFFICIALS INVESTIGATING the case files of 2-year-old Nateyonna Banks, who police say was killed last month by her mother, are scrutinizing the role of child advocate attorneys who represented the deceased girl in court.

Nateyonna Banks died on Nov. 9 as a result of head injuries sustained in her southwest Atlanta home, according to state Department of Human Resources documents. Atlanta police have charged the child’s mother, Shandrell Banks, with murder and child cruelty. Medical examiners also said the child had been sexually abused.
