ON AUG. 1, James N. Hatten becomes the 14th U.S. district clerk in the history of Georgia’s federal Northern District.

For the past four years, Hatten has been U.S. District Clerk Luther D. “Dan” Thomas’ chief deputy. Thomas, who retires July 31, said, “The court has done exceptionally well with Jim Hatten.”
