PLANS ARE PICKING UP speed for a commuter train between downtown Atlanta, Gwinnett County and Athens.
Advocates, who range from Emory University and the University of Georgia to real-estate developers such as Duke Realty Corp. and the Morsberger Group, are flexing their muscles to influence policy-makers to support the train. Rail advocates have talked for years about building a commuter line in Georgia, but the push has accelerated in recent months.
