SAVANNAH, Ga. AP – Two Democratic congressmen won their re-election bids by slim margins according to official returns released Wednesday, though the victory for Rep. John Barrow was so close he could face a recount.
Results of the Nov. 7 general election certified by the secretary of state show Barrow defeated former Republican congressman Max Burns in eastern Georgia’s 12th District by just 864 votes out of 142,438 cast.
