A DONOR TO an independent committee accused of illegal coordination with state Supreme Court candidate J. Michael Wiggins verified Thursday allegations that committee leaders met with potential candidates for this year’s race, including Wiggins.

But the donor, Gould Hagler of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia said the meeting with Wiggins did not violate the law because Wiggins was not yet a candidate in the race against Presiding Justice Carol W. Hunstein.
