THE SIMMERING RACE for a seat on the Supreme Court of Georgia grew white-hot this week, as Presiding Justice Carol W. Hunstein released a television advertisement that challenger J. Michael Wiggins called false and cruel.

The 30-second ad claims that Wiggins’ mother sued him because he took money from her and that Wiggins sued his sister, who said he threatened to kill her when she was eight months pregnant.
