ONE YEAR AFTER evacuating to Atlanta from New Orleans, Jake Schwartz has decided to become one of the few lawyers from his former city to put down roots here.

Schwartz, who was until August the New Orleans outpost for Gulf Coast firm Watkins Ludlam Winter & Stennis, evacuated to Atlanta with his pregnant wife, 14-year old daughter and dog on Aug. 29, 2005. The family moved in with his wife’s father, Kilpatrick Stockton’s Elliott H. Levitas, to wait out the storm. Then the levees broke.
