IN RESPONSE to Adam M. Hames’ letter “AG race sparks criticism,” Sept. 27, I’d like to address a couple of his observations on the campaign for Georgia attorney general.
First, in the context of my campaign, I’ve said that Thurbert Baker has failed to engage on a number of issues I believe are important to Georgia, including illegal immigration, private property rights, the wave of cases filed by the American Civil Liberties Union that are setting dangerous case law precedent and advocacy for crime victims and their families. One of those issues is Mr. Baker’s failure to personally argue in court. In nine years, he hasn’t argued once despite many constitutional cases that have crossed his office.
