KING & SPALDING partner Russell B. Richards made friends with former University of Tennessee head football coach Bill Battle in 1993 when he assisted Battle with the buyout of his Collegiate Licensing Co. business partner.
That relationship paid more dividends this month when Battle tapped Richards as lead counsel on the sale of his company to one of the world’s biggest sports and entertainment talent agencies.
