TWO CASES WITH GEORGIA ties-one about free speech and billboards, the other about the state’s method of taxing railroads-are among the matters that may have a shot at being heard by the U.S. Supreme Court next term.
The railroad case was on the schedule for yesterday’s high court conference, the regular meeting at which justices discuss whether to grant certiorari petitions. The sign case has been set for the May 31 conference.
