Teresa Wynn Roseborough is leaving Sutherland Asbill & Brennan to become chief litigation counsel for MetLife. She had been on the short list as a candidate for the deanship of the University of North Carolina School of Law, her alma mater. Roseborough was a top attorney in former Vice President Al Gore’s effort to get Florida votes recounted after the 2000 presidential election, winning a case at the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals before the U.S. Supreme Court ordered the recount stopped. Roseborough clerked for Judge James Dickson Phillips Jr. at the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and then for Justice John Paul Stevens at the U.S. Supreme Court. She serves as board chair of the American Constitution Society.
