Arnall Golden Gregory had a very good year—better than the firm expected, said its managing partner, Glenn P. Hendrix. Revenue increased 7 percent and profit per partner shot up 24 percent. Revenue per lawyer increased 9 percent. Compare that to 2009, when revenue dropped more than 11 percent, dragging down profit per equity partner by $62,340 or almost 12 percent, and revenue per lawyer by $40,536 or almost 8 percent. Hendrix said he’d anticipated a better 2010, since the firm started the year with a good pipeline of work, but “I didn’t think it was going to be up this much.” It wasn’t until the last two weeks of December, when the firm’s clients closed several deals, that the year went from good to excellent, he said. “We collected a lot of cash when the deals closed and that helped out a lot.”
