In July 2004 the Florida firm opened an Atlanta office, headed by the previouslyand briefly retired Wayne Shortridge. During Shortridge’s tenure as managing partner of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker’s Atlanta office, that branch doubled from about 40 to 80 lawyers. Last year, he said Carlton Fields bulked its Atlanta presence by hiring several business and real estate lawyers, a pattern he expects to continue.
