To survive the recession, the firm cut the salaries of its 123 associates by an average of 7 percent. At the same time, South Carolina’s oldest and largest firm opened new offices in Tallahassee, Fla., and Huntington, W.Va. It also added seven lawyers and two lobbyists to its Boston and Washington offices from Wolf Black, the dissolved Philadelphia-based firm.
