The international firm, which opened its Atlanta office six years ago with four lawyers, became the world’s largest law firm in terms of numbers of lawyers when its merger with Australian alliance partner DLA Phillips Fox was completed last year. Atlanta managing partner Mark E. Grantham said he is optimistic about 2012 and expects to see solid, steady growth. “Despite some market-wide downturn in private equity and venture capital deal volume, our practices in those areas are growing at a rapid pace,” he said. “Our optimism is buoyed by the strong growth we are seeing in our real estate and construction practices, particularly in multi-family and mixed-use projects.”
