The Chicago-based firm saw a healthy rebound in 2011 compared to the previous year. Atlanta managing partner Steven L. Kennedy said that locally, he expects continued growth in real estate and corporate transactional departments through 2012. “We anticipate strong activity in distressed asset resolution litigation, as well as in conventional commercial contract disputes,” he said. The firm’s labor and employment group also anticipates a busy 2012 with workplace class action matters, and “in a sign that the economy is rebounding, [they are] seeing employers increase their focus on preventative measures such as compliance assessments and best practice implementation to try to stem the flow of class action litigation.”
