I feel very flattered when a lawyer is referred to me to handle his or her family law matter. There are few greater professional compliments than the confidence the lawyer-client places in me to do a good job with his case.
What is true for every client is true for the lawyer-client as well: there are no issues more important than those decided in a family law case. A family law case will decide the custody of his or her children, the division of his or her hard-earned assets, and whether the lawyer’s future earnings are at risk to an award of alimony. I also understand how difficult it is for a lawyer, especially a litigator, to surrender control of resolving these issues to someone he has never met before.
