Georgia’s General Assembly isn’t likely to see a significant change in the number of lawyer legislators after this year’s elections, but attorneys are keeping an eye on the head count.

“I believe it is better to have lawyer involvement in the drafting of laws prior to passage rather than afterward when unintended consequences are realized and the complaining starts,” new State Bar of Georgia President Robin Frazer Clark said at the bar’s annual meeting in Savannah earlier this month. “In an ideal world, we would have more lawyers serving in the Legislature.”
