PHILADELPHIA (AP) Five young teens charged with raping a 12-year-old girl at a Philadelphia recreation center were released Wednesday on house arrest until their juvenile court trial next month.
Family court Judge Kevin Dougherty said the boys caught a break because prosecutors are still awaiting DNA test results and could not proceed with a scheduled evidence hearing. Under juvenile law, the defendants could not remain in custody any longer without the hearing.
