Two of Birmingham’s largest firms, both with sizeable Atlanta offices, are expanding into Florida in pursuit of banking work.

Burr & Forman and Balch & Bingham announced acquisitions of Florida firms with significant banking practices last week. Burr’s Florida focus is litigation around foreclosures and troubled loans for banks, while Balch wants to expand its work for banks taking over the assets of other, failed banks.
