Intellectual property lawyer Gregory Kirsch has joined Smith Gambrell & Russell as a partner from Ballard Spahr.

Kirsch practiced at Ballard and predecessor firm Needle & Rosenberg for 16 years. He joined Needle & Rosenberg, an IP boutique, in 1996 from Troutman Sanders to lead the electronics and software patent prosecution work. Needle & Rosenberg was acquired in 2008 by Ballard Spahr, a corporate firm based in Philadelphia.
