Andrew Block was moments away from boarding his flight when he heard the news from a friend. The New York Marathon had been officially canceled because of Superstorm Sandy.
Block, lead counsel for McKesson Health Solutions Products Division, had mixed emotions about running the elite race, but decided to go ahead and make the trip. When his friend called, Block says he thought it was a joke. But it was no joke. The news of the cancellation was already breaking.
