A DeKalb County judge has rejected a defendant’s request for a mistrial based on the revelation that a juror mistakenly didn’t report having the same car insurer as the defendant.

Lawyers on Friday argued over whether the juror’s potential conflict of interest tainted the $241,000 car accident verdict, and whether a defendant has the same right as a plaintiff to seek a mistrial.
