The international firm, founded in Cleveland in 1893, experienced another year of financial growth despite a continued decline in its ranks of lawyers. We think that we will see a record year in 2013, said Atlanta partner-in-charge Lizanne Thomas. Transactional activity continues to be strong, with several M&A deals in the works. One of those deals is the $11 billion AMR Corp./American Airlines merger with U.S. Airways. Jones Day is part of the legal team representing AMR. Thomas also said that while litigation has remained steady over the last few years, we have seen a recent uptick in that area as well as in our real estate practice.
