The son of a Troup County work camp prisoner will receive $500,000 for his father’s accidental death, according to the plaintiff’s attorneys.
The suit on behalf of the now 16-year-old had been thrown out on a summary judgment by now-retired Troup County Superior Court Judge Allen Keeble, who ruled that the county had the benefit of sovereign immunity.
