The wife of a cab driver who was fatally shot in a Clarkston apartment complex in 2007 has settled her claims against the complex’s then-owner for $1.25 million.

The settlement came about a year after the Georgia Court of Appeals upheld a trial court’s denial of summary judgment to defendant Bethany Group LLC. Lawyers for the now-defunct company had argued that the murder was not a foreseeable occurrence that could have been prevented.
