Former Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Beverly Hall and dozens of other school officials, principals and teachers are scheduled to troop into the courtroom of Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter on Friday to be arraigned on criminal charges including racketeering, theft, false swearing and other accusations related to allegations of widespread cheating on tests given to students between 2005 and 2009.

Accompanying them will be a phalanx of defense attorneys—46 at last count, according to one of Hall’s defenders, former DeKalb District Attorney J. Tom Morgan III. More lawyers are on their way, as Baxter on Thursday ordered that several of the defendants who were represented by the same attorneys get new ones to avoid potential conflicts.
