Alston & Bird has recruited Bryan Cave's chief marketing officer, Mark Thompson, to replace Barbara Bryant, who's retiring after heading Alston's marketing department for almost 15 years.
Bryant's career at Alston has spanned seismic changes in the legal profession during its rapid transition into an industry. She said Alston's marketing department had only three people when she started there in 1999. Now it has more than 30 people, spread out across the 800-lawyer firm's 10 offices.
