Lawyers arguing that Fulton County State Court's e-filing fees are illegal appeared to find at least one receptive ear at the Georgia Court of Appeals Wednesday.
Judge Stephen Dillard declared himself "a little sympathetic" to arguments that forcing litigants to pay the LexisNexis File and Serve fees on top of statutory filing fees or to travel to the Fulton County Courthouse to use the free computer terminal there—available only to pro se litigants—may be burdensome and costly, particularly for those in distant locales.
