A U.S. Army sergeant pleaded guilty Thursday to illegally obtaining personal information from the U.S. Army's Army Knowledge Online computer system, according to a joint announcement by U.S. Attorney Michael Moore in Macon and the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Ammie Brothers, 29, of Columbus entered the plea before U.S. District Judge Clay Land in Columbus. Brothers was originally charged in a five-count indictment returned last February by a federal grand jury in Virginia, prosecutors said. The case was later transferred to federal court in Columbus, where Brothers lives.
