The judge overseeing a legal malpractice case against Holland & Knight has turned down a bid to disqualify the firm's defense counsel, Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore, whose partner and former Georgia Bar President Jeffrey Bramlett is handling the case.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Constance Russell wrote that, although there had been contact between the plaintiff's representatives and another Bondurant Mixson lawyer, John Floyd, prior to the suit's filing, there was no evidence that there had ever been more than preliminary discussions concerning potential litigation.
