The chief magistrate judge for Clayton County, Daphne Walker, has been named president and CEO of the Partnership Against Domestic Violence, Georgia's largest nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence. Her position is effective Sept. 9 and PADV will hold a Domestic Violence in the Workplace conference on Oct. 3 at Home Depot's headquarters.

Walker learned of PADV after starting her own firm, The Walker Law Group, in 2002, according to an announcement. She provided pro bono legal services for domestic violence survivors in divorce, child custody, child support and other matters and referred clients to the nonprofit. She was elected magistrate judge in 2004.
