Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens and Gov. Nathan Deal said Monday that a former U.S. solicitor general and a team of Washington attorneys will defend the state from a water rights lawsuit brought by Florida in the U.S. Supreme Court.

The team consists of former SG Seth Waxman, who in 2011 won a key federal appeals court ruling in a separate battle with Florida and Alabama, and lawyers from Kirkland & Ellis.
