In what may be the final and largest wave of attorneys employed by Fulton County seeking millions of dollars in back pay and benefits, 108 current and former Fulton County prosecutors have sued the county claiming they were illegally left out of a program that raised salaries for others.
In 2011, an arbitrator awarded 23 staff attorneys for the Fulton County State and Superior courts almost $4.4 million over identical claims. The county challenged the award, but it was upheld by the Georgia Court of Appeals and is pending before the Georgia Supreme Court.
