Some Georgia jurisdictions still banish offenders, if they are deemed obstreperous enough. The Chattanooga Times Free Press looks at the practice, after Rossville resident Les Coffey was banished from the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit earlier this month.

Coffey pleaded no contest to charges of terroristic threats, theft and four counts of interference with government property in Walker County Superior Court on Dec. 2. He agreed to banishment as a condition of the plea.
