W. Thomas Worthy, deputy executive counsel for Gov. Nathan Deal, will start the 2014 session of the Georgia General Assembly working for the State Bar of Georgia.

Bar President Charles “Buck” Ruffin announced Thursday afternoon at the bar’s midyear meeting in Atlanta that Worthy will be the bar’s director of governmental and external affairs. The newly created position will oversee the bar’s lobbying team.
