Georgia Justice Project defends people accused of crimes, and win or lose, stands with them while they rebuild their lives. We do this by offering free legal representation coupled with a full range of social and employment readiness services.
About five years ago GJP began its Coming Home Program to address the collateral consequences of a criminal history, including barriers to employment, housing and benefits. We assist clients by completing record restrictions (expungements), corrections and amendments. We advocate for clients with potential employers or housing providers. We also work closely with the legislature to pass laws that minimize barriers to reentry for people with a criminal history.
