A Marietta lawyer won a defense verdict for a trucking company whose tractor-trailer was hit by a van transporting prisoners. The crash killed three people who were in the prison van and seriously injured seven others.

Richard Foster of Hicks, Casey & Foster estimated the potential exposure to his client, trucking company New Prime Inc., at $30 million to $50 million. The plaintiffs claimed the truck was traveling below the minimum Interstate speed of 40 miles per hour and had pulled out in front of the van.
