As a third-grade student, I was introduced to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its work to save children’s lives through the St. Jude Math-A-Thon.

Through the St. Jude Math-A-Thon, school children were asked to help raise money for St. Jude by collecting monetary pledges for completing math problems. Easy, right? Practice math skills and raise money for children who were suffering from catastrophic illnesses was in every sense the right thing to do.
