Gov. Nathan Deal is scheduled to interview judicial nominees for the Macon and Cherokee Judicial Circuits today, a Deal spokeswoman said.

The nominees come from short lists created by Deal’s Judicial Nominating Commission. It questioned eight applicants to fill the seat of Macon Superior Court Judge S. Phillip Brown, who retired Dec. 31, and nine applicants to fill the seat of Cherokee Circuit Superior Court Judge Shepherd Howell, who retired Feb. 1.
