A federal judge in Columbus has sentenced an Arkansas man to a year and a day in federal prison for threatening to bomb the national headquarters of Carmike Cinema in Columbus, the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia announced last week.

U.S. District Judge Clay Land sentenced Keith Bowers, 59, of Jessieville, Ark., following Bowers’ guilty plea last December to a charge of transmitting threats via interstate commerce. Bowers placed the call from Texas in 2012, prosecutors said.
